How to Get Your Audi Radio Code — A3, A4, A6, Q5, Q7, TT Guide

Your Audi Radio is Locked
Audi vehicles use the same anti-theft radio code system as other VAG group cars. When the battery is disconnected, the radio locks and displays "SAFE" until the correct code is entered. Your Audi's code is tied to the radio's unique serial number, which starts with AUZ.
Finding Your Audi Radio Serial Number
Audi radios store the serial number internally. To retrieve it:
- Concert/Chorus systems: Press and hold buttons 1+6 simultaneously for 3-5 seconds.
- Symphony systems: Press FM1 + FM2 simultaneously.
- RNS-E navigation: Access the serial through the system menu, or remove the unit.
- MMI systems: The serial is typically accessible through the setup menu under "Version Info".
If the button method doesn't work, remove the radio to find the serial label on the housing. Audi radios use the same removal key pattern as VW.
