How to Identify Your Brand by Serial Number
Most VAG radios show a multi-character serial on the display or on a sticker on the unit. Enter that full serial when you order — do not guess codes.
Finding the Serial Number
- 1Turn on your car radio (it may show "SAFE" or "1000")
- 2Press and hold buttons 1 + 6 (or 2 + 6) together for 3 seconds
- 3The serial number appears on the display — copy it exactly as shown
- 4Select your brand page and enter the full fitted-unit serial on the order form
Alternative Method
If pressing button combinations doesn't work, the serial number is also printed on a sticker on the radio unit itself. You'll need to remove the radio to see it:
- Use radio removal keys (available online for ~€5)
- Pull the radio out partially — the sticker is on the side or top
- Take a photo of the sticker and enter the serial number
- You can also upload the photo on our form for verification
